Aims:
This module aims to give the student an understanding of quality, safety, environmental and lean management techniques and their application in a commercial environment. |
Assessable learning outcomes:
Students will be able to
Analyse and describe the management systems and structure of an enterprise Prepare a Risk Assessment and HACCP Analysis Apply the principles of on-line process control to a production system Implement Lean Management systems Devise corporate and individual training plans Apply Environmental Management Systems and standards to a workplace Demonstrate an understanding of financial recording and monitoring systems |

Outline content:
Although this Module covers a wide breadth of business activity, particular emphasis will be placed upon procedures and practices employed in the horticultural and landscape industries. The topics covered are

This Module consists of nine lectures covering key management principles. Good practice will be demonstrated through a series of visits, practical exercises and guest presentations. |
