Aims:
To provide the knowledge and understanding necessary to examine various contractor procurement systems and documentation and to prepare Bills of Quantity and use Standard Methods of taking off quantities, within a financial administration context. |

Contractor procurement; Systems, documentation, tender procedures.
Documentation. Preparation methods. Bills of Quantity, preparation methods and processes. Standard Methods. Taking off quantities.
Financial administration and settlement of contracts. Interim valuations. Final Accounts. Delays and disputes. Claim preparation and settlement. |

Coursework :
Three assignments - one taking-off exercise, on Bill of Quantities preparation and one Final Account preparation.
Relative percentage of coursework : 100%
Penalties for late submission :
There will be a deduction of 10% for any work submitted up to one week after the original deadline for submission. Thereafter a mark of zero will be recorded.
