Aims:
To develop musical skill, understanding and knowledge Building an awareness of the musical needs of primary school children Enhanced performing and composing skills Growing awareness of a wide musical repertoire Increased awareness of music materials and methodologies appropriate to the primary school

Outline content:
Regular lessons in main instrument/voice Performance seminar Lectures and seminars in music listening Group lessons in keyboard playing Group lessons in guitar Group lessons in use of voice Lectures in music technology Visits to observe good practice in the primary school Ensemble work enhancing knowledge of instrumental/vocal techniques, resources and materials, and the basics of directing and conducting.
