Aims:
This module enables students to demonstrate that they have had two years experience of management activities in a relevant setting. It also encourages them to consider the distinctive nature of managerial work and their own engagement with it.
Assessable learning outcomes:
By the end of the module it is expected that the student will be able to:
Understand the processes for managing change in an organisation
Additional outcomes:
The attention to detail and nuance needed in the analysis of what constitutes managerial work helps conceptual development. Further, information-handling and problem-solving skills can be improved through undertaking this project. Time management skills will also have been learnt.
Outline content:
The student will be required to write a project that involves the following components:
Brief description of teaching and learning methods:
Students are provided with a Prior Experience Project brief that outlines what is required and describes the various meanings of the term “managerial work”. The Prior Experience Project is described orally to the students in a workshop, and they are given an opportunity to ask questions of clarification.

Assessment:
Coursework : Students will write one assignment of 3000 words (mandatory length).
Relative percentage of coursework: 100%
Penalties for late submission: Penalties for late submission of coursework will be in accordance with university policy.
Examinations : None
Requirements for a pass: A mark of 40% overall
Reassessment arrangements: Re-assessment following confirmation of fail by external examiner.
