Outline content:
The learning that the student chooses to reflect on will be formally negotiated with a nominated tutor at the University of Reading and agreed as appropriate for achieving the learning outcomes.
The student will collate relevant information to demonstrate previous learning, for example, attendance of relevant workshops and learning events.
The student will write an academic essay that will reflect how their learning has influenced their practice.
Brief description of teaching and learning methods:
A blended approach of work-based learning, tutorial support, self-directed learning and electronic platforms (e.g. Blackboard and e-mail).

Assessment:
Coursework
Within a portfolio there will be a collection of evidence to demonstrate learning related to caring for patients with diabetes. It must include one written reflective essay that will demonstrate the student’s ability to reflect. The essay will include critical analysis and the impact of learning to current practice in the student’s work place. This will be presented in a well-structured and academic manner.

Requirements for a pass - 40%
Reassessment arrangements
Students who do not obtain the required pass mark in the assessed work will be given the opportunity to resubmit the work on one further occasion: the resit grade cannot exceed 40%.
