Research

The University of Reading is in the top twenty of the most research powerful universities in the UK[1]. Over £20 million worth of contracts are received annually to provide expertise in research to a range of groups including governments, industry, the EU, UK charities and research councils.

In the 2001 RAE, fifteen departments were awarded an RAE rating of 5, and five departments were designated 5*, emphatically demonstrating the University’s international research strengths.
